Whether you're casting for coho, jigging for lingcod, or going deep for sablefish, the fishery near Elfin Cove is thriving all season long.
Our expert guides tailor each trip to your style—whether it’s intense saltwater fishing to fill boxes of fresh fillets, or a scenic fly-fishing experience in pristine rivers teeming with trout, dolly varden, and pink salmon. You'll have access to both deep-sea and shallow-water opportunities, with gear, boats, and know-how ready to make every cast count.

Elfin Cove’s crystal-clear waters let you see the action unfold—watching fish strike your bait or fly is just part of the magic. Our peak fishing season spans the spring and summer months; however, we offer guided trips year-round, tailored to target species. Be sure to check our seasonal fishing chart to time your trip around peak runs.
Our scale here goes from Available, to Good, to Great, and lastly to Peak, which is when catching is the best for that species.
Our dedicated goal and 100% focus is to ensure each guest vacationing with us has a wonderful Alaskan fishing experience.

"Once in a lifetime"
“We have been bringing a group to Tanaku for the past three years. Once you have experienced the “Tanaku Charm,” it is hard not to come back each year. We have tried different periods from early June to late August, and each trip filled our expectations of fishing, food, and fun. The staff at Tanaku has made each of our trips a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience!”

"Caught all we needed"
“We caught limits (6/person/day) of nice Coho the first three days and told our captain that was all the Coho we needed. We fished only for halibut the last two days. We each brought home two boxes of filets and dropped off another box of salmon filets at Alaska Seafood in Juneau to be smoked, canned, and sent home. We could not have asked for a better trip!”
